W…T…F,DAYUM that looks like one of those damn le cars from the 80s and 90s
Those guys should invest $1 in a bubble level and $2 in a new car.
We have one of those here. I live in Moncton, New Brunswick. Really cool to do and lots of people from around the world come and experience it.
Optical illusion. The road has to be angled down even though it looks as though it slopes up. Put a glass of water on the hood and you should be able to tell. I remember seeing a house like this at a Six Flags when I was a kid.
I’ve been on a hill like this in Florida. It is very hard to figure out why a car moves against gravity until viewed from another angle.

Maybe it’s hard to figure out because it’s NOT moving against gravity Dick.
Once you accept the fact that gravity works it’s really not that hard to figure out.
Has anyone tried to survey the hill? A transit will show level or not.
I guess these recordings are played backwards to achieve the illusion perhaps?
I’ve heard of a place like this in CA called the Mystery Spot. There is a website on it. Never been there myself, but it’s a HUGE tourist attraction.
i drove through one once. the cali nevada border has one.
The hill in Florida is Spook Hill in Lake Wales. Here’s the legend:
“Many years ago an Indian village on Lake Wales was plagued by raids of a huge gator. The Chief, a great warrior, killed the gator in a battle that created a small lake. The chief was buried on the north side. Pioneer mail riders first discovered their horses laboring down hill, thus naming it “Spook Hill.” When the road was paved, cars coasted up hill. Is this the gator seeking revenge, or the chief still trying to protect his land?”
Bob – I knew there was a perfectly logical explanation.
Hello… i’m from Braga and i know the explanation:
-> the road below is down the hill (about 15%), and the road with the car is slightly less down (about 5%). So that creates an optical ilusion that the road is Upper the hill, but it’s not 🙂
DAYUM, too many anal retentives in here! Just enjoy the illusion.
we got one here in mississippi. we decided to go out and level it too see. its not downhill
