In this country people generally refer to soft drinks as one of three things: Soda, Pop, and Coke. If you’ve ever wondered who calls it’s what, wonder no more. For the most part, it’s all about geography.

When I was a kid every soft drink was a coke, didn’t matter if it was aka Mountain Dew, Dr Pepper, Orange Crush or a grape Nehi bellywasher, it was called a coke. The only possible exception was a weird, vile concotion my sister drank called Fresca, it was in a category all by itself, called fermented pee.
When I was a kid a soft drink was a pop.
A soda was something made in a tall glass with scoops of ice cream and pop poured over it…root beer, coke, 7 Up or the best…Orange Crush.
Now, that’s probably a float.
When I was a kid, a float was something you blew up with a tire pump and put in the riv…oh never mind, ya bunch a young wippersnapper punks. Go do your homework and Get Off My Grass!
(*mumbling*) When I was a kid grass was…..
When I was a kid, my parents didn’t let me drink soda, Coke, cola, or pop
In Australia we call it soft drink.
LOL @ DJ. When I was a kid we didn’t even have grass!
I have lived in Knoxville TN all my life but I have always called it a soda. Nobody else in the family does, not sure why I do. Just thought calling everything a Coke sounded silly.
LOL once again @ DJ. Oh, we had grass when I was younger and it was mighty fine, from what I can remember.
It was mostly cola where I grew up in Washington, D.C. The exception was YooHoo. YooHoo has got to be the worst mixer ever…
