There was another church here in the KC area a few months ago that had a series on sexuality. I think it’s a brilliant idea. Lots of people here in the bible belt grew up thinking sex was dirty and was a sin. They grew up their whole lives avoiding it like the plague. Then they get married and they just don’t know what to do. Sex is still a dirty word and something to be embarrassed about.
Churches need to come to realize that their incessant preaching against sex has contributed to the downfall of marriages. Speaking from experience, it took years before my wife actually allowed herself to enjoy sex, and even then, there’s still a hint of guilt afterward.
It’s about time churches start preaching to adults that sex is a gift from God and that He WANTS you to enjoy sex in a committed relationship.
I’d love to see the looks on the 13, 14, 15 year old’s faces when the sermon turns to the importance of “love toys” and the joys of masturbation.
Make a joyful spurt – say hallelujah!
