I think we ought to doctor up all our paper currency to make them look like pirates, and start a wave of pirated money.
they filmed it in st.louis so they didn’t have to create any elaborate sets :p
Kelly,
The scene where the president’s plane crashes was filmed in a bad area of downtown St. Louis. I was there when they were setting up for the scene. They were pulling some airplane seats out of a big truck and scattering them around an empty lot next to some abandoned buildings. (I took some pictures of the scene, but I’m not sure where they are now.) They had parts of an airplane fuselage on the ground and they were spray painting to give them a burned look. They filmed a few other scenes that were supposed to be on New York streets in the same general area.
The prison wall scene was filmed on the closed Chain of Rocks Bridge (it crosses the Mississippi River in North St. Louis). They built this giant plywood wall and painted it gray to simulate a concrete prison wall at one end of the bridge. A couple other scenes were filmed on the bridge itself.
anyone else ever notice that the music from “escape from ny” was very very similar to the music from “terminator”?
John Carpenter composes his own music for every movie he makes. It’s just a coincidence.
now that i think about it- those two soundtrcks are completely different.
Looks more like George Best.
Ole Abe looks raher cool to me.
