Gassing up

I filled up today at Quick Trip. $1.37 a gallon.

QT gas

I NEVER thought I’d ever see gas under $2 a gallon again.  This, I’m thankful for.

  1. Doesn’t that piss you off? The world’s demand didn’t just drop by 1/2 over the last few weeks.

Who’s raking in all that dough?

  2. $1.56 this week in this part of OK. Looks like ST.L. finally passed us up. Maybe it’s time to get a big tank and start hoarding. It could bounce back up anytime, you never know. Just 5 months ago I paid $4.32 while on vacation.

  3. It will definitely go back up. It’s a finite resource, and much of it is controlled by Middle Eastern countries, most of which don’t like us very much (with good reason).

  4. Does anyone know of a legitimate gas pre-purchasing program like mygallons.com was supposed to be? Something like this would be tempting to get into now if it actually worked the way it should. Apparently mygallons.com had problems and never got off the ground.

  5. If we all had a big tank to fill up when it’s cheap then we probably wouldn’t have to worry about the price of gas. It’s 85.9 a litre in my neck of the woods and that’s still expensive. Approx. $3.50 a gallon. And yes, it will go up, big time. With this economy, I think we’re hooped and I have a good job. For now.

  6. Lucky – We’re still at 2.40 a gallon near Buffalo, NY.. It was said in the local news the other night that we are the highest in the country, and no one can say why… That trend is a first for this area in quite a while..

  7. Don’t forget…a lot of the price of gas at the pump is taxes…state, provincial, local, county, etc. I think if you could break it down, you’d be pissed even more.

  8. Naw…Not even close to record…during the election campaign in Sept and Oct there were items that had well over 50 posts…I seem to remember one or two in the 80’s!…Wow those were brutal – lots of casualties and collateral damage…

When you have some time, go back thru the archives of Aug Sept Oct, but have a first aid kit and some medicinal alcohol ready…
