  1. I remember when it came out as well. And it was funny.

That show was pretty good–I am glad Hulu has a lot of the episodes.

One other WKRP show I remember was when Cincinnati was being hit by tornadoes–Les did not have a prepared course of action to give the people what to do when tornadoes hit, but he did for when the Commies attack, so he used that speech and substituted “tornado” for “commie” (best quote: The Godless—-tornadoes). In this episode it was touching when Carlson was talking to a little girl that was home alone; he convinced her to go to the basement. He heard the basement door open and close just before the phone call was cut off–the implication being that a tornado flattened her house.

Thanks for posting this–it is a classic.

  2. Thank you for posting this. It has to be one of the best Thanksgiving episodes ever. I too saw this the first time it aired.

Of course, the best Thanksgiving line ever: “As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.”

Laughed just as hard this time as the first time I saw it!

  3. The fellow who actually did the Turkey Drop was Jerry Blum, the General Manager at WQXI Atlanta back about 1970. And it really, really happened folks!
