Hey, I’ve actually got an infra-red oven but it’s a plastic dome. It cooks right from the frozen state, thaws, cooks, browns and everything so far has turned out excellent.
Near the end it says “Paris Exhibition of Future”. That’s where I got France from. I’ll change the title to Checkslovakia if I can figure out how to spell it. 🙂
I think it’s a Prague (Czech) film about a Paris exhibition. So I’d say it’s the way France was predicting the year 2000. It doesn’t say anything about the Czeck vision of the future.
This is going to come off as ridiculously picky, but there is no Czechoslovakia anymore. It split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1990. This geography/history lesson brought to you by the Paris Exhibition of the Future and Bud Light!
It’s a video commentary of the then Czechoslovak TV on an exhibition in Paris in 1957. Wouldn´t that suck if we all ate the same meals from silly punch card recipes and lost the fun of creative cooking?
There was actually something in this video that is now in use — the induction cooktop. Cooks by speeding up the molecules in the pan, but the surface stays cold.
amazing how close they really were when you think about it. Infared and emf heating is getting more popular. As well as keeping recipes on the computer. Although you do have to wonder why everything was moving. Considering how often thigs break would you really want haudralic powered kitchen cabinets? I could just imagine myself in the kitchen of the future dealing with a balckout and trying to use a crowbar to open my fridge so I wont starve.
The title suggests this is from France in 1957, but believe me, he is NOT
speaking French. From the end credit, I’d say Czech.
Definitely an eastern European or Slavic language. NOT FRENCH.
You have to love this crowd. Nothing gets past the B&P readers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So what the hell are they saying?

It is Czech.
Bella, you got it all!!

Czechoslovakia then…Czech Republic now
Alan: Actually it was 1993 (1st January).
This video is nice and funny, not like communistic short movies from that time. I always thank God that I can watch them only as old relics.
