Trump’s plan to take by force the territory of a NATO country is the third rail of his presidency. As of yet, nothing he’s done seems to shake the MAGA folk from believing the truth that this is a person who has no business running a hot dog stand much less a country.
The invasion of Greenland will end the world as we know it.
If you thought tariffs were a stupid idea, just wait until we’re cut off from buying or selling anything from Europe, or anything that has to pass through Europe to get here.
We’re going to lose every base we have in Europe, including those in Germany we fly wounded troops from Iraq to when needed. How are we going to supply the men and women in uniform without NATO’s help? How are we going to respond quickly if Iran invades Iraq, which they can do now that America is cut off from the Middle East?
If Trump attacks NATO, an organization we helped build and maintain for over seven decades, who will trust us after that?
Putin will have no force on earth to restrain his dream of a Greater Russia. With a NATO blockade of the Suez canal oil coming from the Middle East could be cut off easily, and there is nothing America could do to get it back. Without the bases in Europe, America is an island in the Atlantic with nowhere to land planes.
It gets much worse, and it gets there quickly.
Iran can take Iraq in less than a week setting up a Shia Superstate. China can take Taiwan and become the Pacific Superpower dictating trade and movement of ships without interference from America at war with their former closest friends. Taiwan is the biggest and most important producer of computer chips on earth, and a war with NATO hands them to China.
The Middle East goes hard over to Islamic Extremists, who have long yearned to be rid of American influence. India will be forced to become closer to Russia or China, simply because after attacking NATO, America will lose the trust of everyone on earth.
Go through your house and toss out everything not made in America. Your jeans, appliances, your car, your dishes, your flooring, your computers, and you’re going to find that Trump doesn’t produce anything but conflict and strife.
We cannot wake up one day, elect a leader who is both sane and knowledgeable, and hope the world as a whole trusts us again.
Unless we rise up against the end of America as we know it, and we do it soon, everything we have ever known will simply wither and disappear, leaving us with nothing but memories if the way things once were, and landfills full of red hats.
Take Care,
Mike

But we will have the most expensive Department of War Crimes in the world keeping us safe from those that want to take whatever is left of the former shining beacon of hope and righteousness. And tacky gold stuff will be required in all homes over the one channel state TV.
“We are watching you.”
*tacky gold stuff*
That describes the whole of Trump’s administration.
His recent foray had Cheeto Mussolini pulling a TACO in regards to his tariffs threat. I do want to revisit my belief that a large part of this chapter was to pull the Epstein files out of the news cycle, which to my observation, has worked. Although, I realize the DOJ has since said the bill that required the files to be released has no enforcement mechanism. Which is true. That thought is similar to saying that a bill outlawing murder is meaningless unless that law specifically has consequences for violating it.
Understanding legalese, the word “shall” has more power than “may” and this bill uses shall, but as the toddler-in-chief has never had any real world consequences, the logic utilized in not releasing any more files is on brand.
Anyhow, back to Greenland… Yes, Putin needs NATO to become ineffective. Russia has had their agent working on that since the 80s when he posted ads in a few national papers stating his contempt for NATO. (https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-foreign-policy-ad/) This done after his time with his then wife, Ivana, whose father was involved with Russian intelligence (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/oct/29/trump-czechoslovakia-communism-spying). Even back then, Russia had a distrust of NATO, so getting into the uneducated, narcissist brain of little Donnie was an easy target. In my opinion, sometime between then and his Miss Teen pageant visit in Russia, Putin blackmailed him in order to escalate his plans to dissolve the U.S.
And our Dictator Tot is malleable simply with flattery with a healthy dose of bribery, so the bug was put into his ear to run for president and he would be helped along the way by Russia as investigations into that election has shown. (https://www.acslaw.org/projects/the-presidential-investigation-education-project/other-resources/key-findings-of-the-mueller-report/)
With his health and sanity in question, the plan seemingly was expedited and the “flood the zone” process increased. What I can’t say with certainty is if there was any collusion with Russia and the wealthy in the US to destroy the fourth estate as that was a plan for the conservatives here for years, with media outlets being purchased in large numbers by wealthy conservatives. (Ironically, the claim of a liberal bias became absurd after the Telecommunications Act) Needless to say, the republiklan party and Russia are like two peas in a pod in political philosophy, so it’s difficult to say what involvement there was if any. But knowing this fact, I’m sure Russia recognized an ally in their goals and could easily stand by and let the oligarchs continue their destruction of the Constitution while Putin manipulated his puppet to his demands.
I’ve said this before, what makes the U.S. the U.S. is our Constitution. To willfully ignore the principles of that document is an admission of hatred for our country, so anyone claiming or at best ignoring the obvious disdain for the rule of law, has no claim to saying they are being patriotic. I advise anyone who feels otherwise to read, “They Thought They Were Free” (https://press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/511928.htm) and if you walk away from that saying you don’t see the similarities, then your soul is beyond saving.

It’s cringy to be an American right now.
Worse yet, his cult is incapable of embarrassment, so they will brush this off with indignation as their golden orange cow can never be wrong, so it will get filed as fake news.
Buffoon!
agreed, but we only have three more years to put up with A-Golf Twitler
Seriously hoping he’s just another greasy Big Mac away from biting it.
It’s obvious to those of us who aren’t deranged that Trump clearly is. I feel as if our elected officials aren’t holding up their end of the deal here for the most part. There are a few who are calling these treasonous acts out. These fat cats collecting enormous paychecks and great benefits funded by my taxes are doing all of us a great disservice. They are allowing this administration to defecate all over the Constitution and don’t seem to care. Any time a sitting president just goes rogue and does whatever he feels like doing without using the checks and balances system that was installed for this very reason there needs to be action taken. May haps a new amendment is in order due to this behavior. We founded this country to get away from this type of rule, why are we allowing it from a bloated incompetent con man? Perhaps revolution is in order here. It wasn’t so long ago that we don’t know about it. I’m also reminded of the Dutch and their stateman Johan de Witt. That may not be out of the question about now.
This also should be proof that we need to invest more in our education system. How can so many people be so utterly dumb. This is the age where information is literally at your fingertips in an instant. It doesn’t take two weeks for information to reach you when something happens. There is no excuse to be so brainwashed. Frankly, it’s tiresome living in the midst of idiots. For those of you thinking that I should just move, believe me I would if I could. The state of the world right now is such that is not only is it expensive, but the rest of the world doesn’t want us anywhere near them.
Thanks to the wannabe Fuhrer.
We have been betrayed by the White House.
We have been betrayed by Congress.
We have been betrayed by the Supreme Court.
We have been betrayed by the Media.
We have been betrayed by religion.
They want us to fear, to live in fear.
The United States government can literally murder you and then falsely call you a “domestic terrorist” while your body is still lying in the snow.
None of us are free. We live under a dictatorship of capital and nothing short of revolution that overthrows all of them and their fear-mongering ilk, the billionaires, will truly liberate us.
I stand with Greenland (Denmark)
I stand with Ukraine
Russia can’t even take back a corrupt nation like Ukraine–they are losing about 20,000 troops a month, so how can they even think of taking over Europe?
China has been thinking of taking over Taiwan since its (Taiwan’s) founding in ’48–but have not tried. It might have to do with the huge trading between Taiwan and China. And with many brand new cities that are empty and poorly built, China may not be as big a threat as it seems. China’s military is very siloed–meaning that each personnel is trained to do one thing and one thing only so they wait for orders from above–and if a fire happens on a ship, they hope the fire-fighters can get to it on time; in contrast, our Navy personnel are trained in many things so if a fire breaks out, anyone near it knows how to fight it.
Iran is in trouble, too. They are what–about 3 weeks or so of massive protests? Also, their money is almost worthless and their government is putting on a strong show for the media but is fairly impotent. I seriously doubt they have the ability to invade another country.
You seem to be lacking in information. While it’s true that Russia is struggling in taking over Ukraine, the effort to weaken NATO assists him for the future. Whether Russia can or cannot win Ukraine is less of the issue here. The fact is Putin believes he will win and when he does, his plan is to continue westward, including some NATO countries. If the US is out of the picture, he believes it easier to be done. Hence, using his agent, albeit an addled brain and drug snorting agent in the White House, but sadly in power, is crucial to disrupting the alliance.
China, on the other hand, is less about hegemony and more about weakening the US’s status as a superpower. Taiwan is not only a longtime US ally, but also the place where most of the world’s — and America’s — computer chips are manufactured. If China takes Taiwan offline, the damage to the US will be amplified a thousandfold. The most advanced category of mass-produced semiconductors — used in smartphones, military technology and much more — is known as 5 nm. A single company in Taiwan, known as TSMC, makes about 90 percent of them. U.S. factories make none. No thanks to the orange bloviating shit filled diaper in DC, he’s done nothing to change that. We, as a nation, would be crippled within the population as well as the military.
The situation in Iran presents it’s own irony. The orange, greasy fatbag complains of their government attacking protesters while he does just that here in own backyard, and in the process giving his own gestapo immunity from their illegal actions. Plus the fact that the shit stain dismantled the peace plan we had with Iran, it assisted in the instability in the region. There are many variables in that region, with oil routes being threatened just being the most immediate. The mideast is one huge clusterfuck and involves too many players, all simmering now and when properly provoked can initiate a conflict that could easily affect us, among others.
As one exUS military intelligence expert said: There are no military options for Iran. Attack them, and they will destroy the Gulf States oil industries, rain hundreds of missiles onto Israel, close the Arabian Gulf, and shoot oil prices to $300 per barrel, which could cause our own economic downfall.
On a related note, you once made a claim to use sources you deem more trustworthy. I wonder how true that is as your post is lacking in variables that conflicts to your stance. Unbiased sources, or at least one’s own search, would usually present two sides of the issue or at least all the known variables.
Back to the topic at hand: Greenland. Let’s hope Trump doesn’t notice there really isn’t any more of a deal with Denmark than there is with the pharmaceutical companies or we can see more idiocy transpire over the short term. Hoping that his dementia refrains from any immediate realization of his non-deal.
He was never going to invade Greenland.
It’s a negotiating tactic to force a conversation.
He does it all the time and it works. Christ, he wrote a fucking book about it.
He has now gained sovereign territory on Greenland Island to base anti-nuke interceptors, which cannot be taken away without triggering war.
Job done.
all of which has done bugger all for the price of groceries
We have had bases there for over seventy years. They were downsized at the end of the Cold War. Like usual, he didn’t make any new deal but takes credit for something that was already there. Like changing the name of NAFTA, then crowing about it and then reneging on that deal too.
The only thing Trump has done for more employment in this country is more fact checkers and Trumpsplainers.
we literally already had that…. he gained nothing. we’ve had the ability to setup bases in greenland for decades and already have bases there.
