1. basic fat in a bag, hated having to knead the bag for mom…..

2. I remember it coming in little parchment packets in the 60’s but we never mixed it in, too much like work 😉 and up until very recently it was illegal to sell yellow margarine in some parts of the country.

3. *sigh* I looked it up, it was 1995…that should still be ‘recently’…not 30 years ago…
   this getting old bit sucks.

   • I’m 76 and the most i ever knew of this was what someone told me when I was a kid. Never seen it. Maybe it was a more regional thing.

5. My mother, who would have 85 last week, told me she remembers mixing the color into the margarine. Sometime late 40’s early 50’s?

6. Yep – we were poor.
