As a retired mechanic I can’t begin to tell how many car owners didn’t know how to describe their vehicle as to right or left. Saying passenger side or driver’s side worked.
Those same people would give directions to someplace by saying right or left but that changes depending on which way one was driving.
Either my Dad or my Step-Mom would get their left and right mixed up, so when they were driving, the one riding shotgun would say, “turn your way” or “turn my way” instead of “turn left” or “turn right.”
