Back in the ’70s, there was a teacher at my high school that would try to rattle the new female employees by asking, “Do you want to screw?” (he used the F-word but I am trying to keep it PG-13). One year, my Mom was the district nurse and as he was walking out of the teacher’s lounge and my Mom was walking in, he used that line. My Mom immediately said, “not here–people will see us.”

    They were best of friends from that day until my Mom and Step-Dad left the area decades later. And I had him as a teacher.
