It is clear that in the US they are not used to the international system. No, MG does not mean milligram. Milligram is mg. MG is a car brand, or if we assume that the g in gram has been written as a capital letter, MG would mean Megagram because M means Mega ( 1.000.000 grams 1 mg is 0.001 gram)
Notice that the grams of protein and sugar is “G” and not “g”.
We capitalize differently–but it is still understood.
Also, to us, Mega would be 1,000,000 grams. I think that is the same in all of north America.
May 2023 we spent two weeks in Lancashire (fleetwood and lancaster) and hired an MG – I told everyone back home it was a Moto Guzzi instead of Morris Garage as I was too embarrassed to speak the truth. Will be in Morecambe over Christmas and my car hiring days will be over with the purchase of a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso (diesel and automatic) to keep over there for our biannual visits. Purchasing that was cheaper than one hire.
