Well, that’s something I won’t be going out of my way to see. It probably won’t survive long anyway as SD gets some serious wind and that sail is going to act just like one.

Without knowing the area, I’m going to guess you can see it from miles around.
It’s in South Dakota. It’s so flat that you can see one side of the sculpture by looking east, and the other side by looking west.
Incredibly beautiful. Judging by the comparative size of the bystanders it looks more than 50 ft high.
It looks like it might reflect light back on itself. If so, I hope the metal can handle the extra heat or it will look epic when half-melted.
I wonder if the women of the Sioux nation appreciate it–or approved of the design.
The statue was erected in 2016 so it has been standing for 9 years on I-90 near Chamberlain, SD. The artist says it has been well received by the Native community.
My friend Janet and I were there a few months ago. We stayed overnight in the town of Chamberlain SD overlooking the Missouri river. We went back at dusk. She seemed to change coloring.
