Your date is a bit off. Disneyland opened in California in the mid-1950s. Disney World opened in Florida in 1971. I don’t think the international ones opened until much later, but I could be wrong.
Okay–but I think the castle was built and ready for guests when the park opened in ’71–especially since it is so big and draws people in. I know Epcot Center and the World of Tomorrow (or whatever that area of the park is called) came later.
