Why would enough people take pictures of cheese instead of buying it or moving on that this sign was necessary?
Stupidly placing an apostrophe like that makes me almost homicidal.
True, but this is in the Netherlands and what probably happened was a contamination between languages: the plural in Dutch is foto’s, with an apostrophe. And selling cheese in a tourist destination like Amsterdam leads to this kind of requests/warnings.
