I seen that plane in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.
The British D.4 was built in 1908 but wasn’t a successful flyer.
Northrup built a small flying wing in 1940 that passed it’s tests. The German’s unsuccessful plane flew and crashed in 1943.
* Jack Northrup was founder of Northrup Corporation and inventor of the flying wing. Pretty fascinating life he lived.
* Jim Northrup was a Detroit Tigers outfielder.
