I’ve seen a parent stop in the middle of the road with a child in tow, just to do something on the phone. Traffic didn’t faze him, and the kid was too small to be aware of the danger. He didn’t even make it across the street before the light had changed. So yeah, it’s not that much of a stretch.
All those warning signs for stupid people? They are needed because someone did that action.
The problem with warning signs for stupid people is that they won’t pay attention to them anyway. And that’s stupid and can be painful..
