  1. That looks like a baked clay tablet not stone. The wet clay could be imprinted with letters and words then baked without a lot of trouble. It was not uncommon for lesser quality metals to be mixed in with the better stuff. Gold especially was tainted and there’s more than a few tablets out there complaining about that practice.
