An Important Message from the Admin;

Hello all,

I wanted to reach out and let you know of some technical settings with commenting and remind you of some ground rules as far as this website goes. The system uses your entered NAME as the identifier along with the IP address and entered email. If you change your name for a specific comment on a post, for some reason it holds your comment for approval – thinking it’s a new user even though it has the same email and IP address. I don’t know why, and I cannot change that setting, so just be aware that your comment may be held.

I’ve also had to sign an agreement based on what content this site has, and in order to keep the rating as it sits; there are some restricted words. If I see a held comment containing a restricted word, I will either edit the comment to censor it or let you know that it was restricted – to give you an opportunity to revise your comment on your own.

No, this does not infringe on your free speech. This is merely me adhering to a specific format that will not limit my audience due to posting and allowing restrictive content. This site has a selected PG-13 rating and I’d like to keep it that way.

Aside from that, I appreciate every one of you and your participation with the comments, please keep them coming and enjoy!

Sincerely, me

  1. So, are we supposed to just guess the “restricted” words so we don’t use them?

    In signing the agreement, weren’t YOU told what the “restricted” words were by the company you contracted with? It seems it’s OK for them to use those words, but we shouldnt, right?

  2. Pete and Nolan – Think of Jonco and his presence here.

    What words would you NOT want to say in front of his wife, his children, or his grandchildren?

    And like I said – I will let you know when you have performed the misdeed, and further pushback from that point will result in an IP block. Let’s be adults here, use your brains and your education and think of how you can get a point across without expletives or racial overtones.

  3. When I ran my site Deep Fried Bits – a few of my posts got me flagged, but they were due to being too sexy for WordPress. I remember one meme had a larger man that was only wearing some holey briefs (nothing x-rated), and one of the others was a cool pic of a hilly landscape – but I think they picked it up as a naked female body (it wasn’t). I often times have found funny, but more risqué things to post that I wish we still had Naughty Bits going – but I just didn’t have the time to put to it.

    I think Mike’s sentiment here is to generally be nice to each other, by having cordial, respectful discourse even if you disagree with a post or comment. Bits has always been a place of good humor, entertainment, and fun – it’s one of the few places on the web left like that.

    Mike, I think you’re doing a fantastic job – I think Dad would be pleased. And I love coming here and seeing all the familiar names commenting, as well as new names too! Good stuff! 🙂

  4. Well, that just XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX.

    By the way, this is a privately-run site, so the first amendment does not have to be enforced here.
