Get over it, it is hardly copy and pasted. The movement might be based on the same reference but the characters are different and have to be re-drawn and re-thought for each film.
Animators use filmed reference all the time for sequences, Disney animators were especially known to have used actors to act out scenes on film as a visual reference. All this really amounts to is animators re-using filmed animation reference.
You probably aren’t going to see this sort of thing nowadays as I imagine Disney probably used to shoot this real life reference on film which was both expensive and time consuming. Animators today can have actors film multiple takes for animation reference quickly and cheaply on video.
As far as being scammed goes, something tells me you folks probably never felt “scammed’ when you enjoyed these films over the years before seeing this comparison. Did you even notice these similarities before someone pointed them out to you by compiling this video?
Also “copy and pasted” is a real condescending and unfair simplification of what is involved in animation art, in the same way the word “photoshopped” has become a modern verb for any sort of image manipulation.
I didn’t feel scammed by this video, I thought it was educational and informative, then again I’m a passionate animator myself which probably has a lot to do with this long winded rant.
Enjoy and appreciate folks, don’t be so quick to feel cheated,
I love when something like a magic trick is pointed out to me, I feel far more informed than cheated.
So basically Robin Hood was the same movie as The Jungle Book only with different costumes?
My whole childhood… has just been ruined.:(
Shame on whoever put that together.:)
Why would this ruin anything? The Disney animators were under huge pressure to get these great movies out, and the fact that they were efficient about it increases my respect for them. Did you notice when you were kid?
It’s frightening to think that someone watched enough Disney to figure this out!
When you have little kids, you watch plenty of Disney.
Wow… I feel like I have been scammed…
Copy and paste huh? I feel doubly scammed.
