  1. I used to live in Arizona, and this was a common practice. Walking across the hot parking lot sucks, but getting into a car that has sat in direct sunlight in the summer is like climbing into a pizza oven! Better to keep the car a few degrees cooler. (Plus, the more you park in the sun, the faster your dashboard will deteriorate and start cracking.)

  2. Employee parking? Around here, employees aren’t allowed to park anywhere near the store entrances…those are for the customers. They have to park waaay out by the edge of the lot.

I have been to Arizona a few times – people try to drive in the shade of cars and trucks next to them on the road -parking lots are scorching – I don’t understand why they don’t put up some king of shading devices -light poles with shading wings attached – This would be a great opportunity for someone to invent an attractive product in that regard
