Lady Gaga & Beyonce – Telephone

There are some homages to Tarantino in this music video released Friday.

I know there is a lot of talent there with the music, dancing and creativity putting it all together, but I don’t get the Lady Gaga thing.  I guess my age is showing.

  1. Why would your age be showing? If it’s complete bull, it’s complete bull. No matter what age you are.

  2. She’s only famous because of her crazy outfits and make-up jobs and anything else she can do to get attention. Once everyone else starts doing it to extremes like she does, she’ll be quickly forgotten.

  3. My 15 year old daughter doesn’t like her either-it’s just one of those things you enjoy or you don’t I suppose. I think she’s going for a Madonna crossed with the Bowie of the 70’s sort of thing, in your face and totally aiming to be over the top in order to sell herself. That being said, I like her dance music because I’ve always enjoyed music that can make me move but this video was only mildly amusing, they lost me in the cafe. Quite the product placement as well, even her line of earphones was in there!

  4. I had a buddy who said if I had blonde hair, I’d look like Lady GaGa… I don’t know what to think about that…

  5. Have any of you heard her acoustic version of her songs? I like them much better than her actual album songs. She is a fantastic artist!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exwZXQoHkwg Here is an amazing acoustic version of Poker Face at a concert in Japan. Her outfit isn’t even that wild. Lady Gaga is the new age Madonna and last time I checked Madonna is still a famous name after 40+ years. I expect Gaga to follow in her footsteps.

  6. OOH and she’s not just an artist who dresses weird, she’s also an active philanthropist. She donated proceeds from her concert and merchandise to the Haiti relief; i think it was about $500,000.

  7. @Rockhobbit99 That’s because she donated an entire day of ticket, merchandise, and online sales. That’s the amount she made in that day. I don’t see other celebrities doing that.

  8. I bet she made more than 500.000 on just one concert, that is what I was trying to point out. Only giving 500,000 to Hiati while making more yourself is my point.
Next to that, it probably wasn’t even her idea, just another idea of her record company to make her look good.

Music on tv is just loads of commercialised crud, they completely change artist’s histories and image just to sell more merchandise with the labels “Hot” & “New”, while most of it is just stolen and re-edit from way back when. She’s just your second madonna, but a little more over the top because we’re used to the over-the-topness of madonna back then.
Glad I don’t listen to this stuff.

  9. That was roughly the estimate and I’m sure that’s how much she made. Her tickets are rather cheap, until they’re sold out and other people sell them for twice as much. I’m sure it was her idea. Donating to Haiti is only one of things she done to help the community. I forgot to mention she is selling a Haiti relief shirt on her site. I’m not sure how much is being donated through the shirt considering it’s still on sale. And do you honestly expect her to donate all of her money? No person isn’t going to do that, celebrity or not. And unlike other celebrities she spends her money to better her concerts as opposed to huge mansions and nice cars.

She writes her own music. Even in her pre-Gaga days she was in a band performing. Unlike the majority of singers in her genre she actually performs and knows how to play an instrument. She doesn’t lip-sync her music like Britney Spears. How has her history been altered? Her record company isn’t doing anything. In fact, she fought with the record company for her album artwork. Apparently it wasn’t sexual enough for them. It’s also impossible to commercialize a live concert video that wasn’t even filmed in America. Lady Gaga isn’t Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers, or Lil Wayne and often people over look her because they think so and don’t even bother to watch one of her amazing performances. Did you even watch my link? I highly doubt. I at least give an artist a chance before judging

  10. I never said she couldn’t preform, I’m only insinuating that she isn’t as great as she seems, purely because most of it is a façade made up by the record label.

And this is what I meant with her history:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN5f50_4cl0&feature=related < Hey where are the dresses and the wierd hairdo? O gosh, I remeber an interview with her telling the tv station she never was normal and that she never really fitted in, and somehow got through it all ok. She looks perfectly normal to me in that video. No "not fitting in material". And that video is 2006.

Something like that is a blow below the belt for people who actually experienced "never fitting in" because you got treated like gutter mud, and now suddenly it's something cool and something to be proud of? My classmates never showed me that, in fact the absolute opposite untill they got a little older.

I'm trolling right now, I'm sorry, I just wish some people would be a little more honoust to themselves and admit they laughed at me for something I did or liked, which they're now doing or liking themselves. Like my taste of music for instance, or interest in vehicles.

  11. Trying to fit in where? All of my friends are just so-so with Gaga. I’m the only big fan. And there are no ideals being thrown out. It’s not like I’m shooting squirrels in the name of Gaga.

  12. Oh dear, I totally missed your post before that. I was wondering what you were talking about. My bad.

The reason why her hair wasn’t crazy was because she died it only because people often mistook her for Amy Whinehouse, before Amy was the ugly crack head she is now. And just because you look normal doesn’t mean you are normal or feel normal. In fact I know someone who looks perfectly normal but acts in a definite not normal way. The possibilities are endless. It’s very much possible she didn’t feel normal the way she was dressed, but couldn’t afford the eccentric outfits she has now. http://www.myspace.com/stefanigermanottaband On her myspace band page you can see her start to wear her legless outfits.

  13. Let the people who like to see freaks keep making her rich. It’s their choice and it’s their money.

  14. Duuude, you’re right.

Alright, you’ve convinced me about her Angelica, but one thing I won’t think differntly about is what kind of music she makes and who’s actually behind it.

Sorry Angelica, I get carried away easily as you’ve noticed, I should respect your ways of thinking, and keep mine to me.
    Anyway, thanks for the discussion.

  15. You’re welcome? I trying to debate whether or not you’re sincere or using sarcasm. One of the disadvantages of computer communication.

  16. I browse through rumours almost everywhere, that absolutely nothing in Drag queen Gaga is original and that she is really a copycat 🙁 I nonetheless love Lady Gaga coZ she is awesome!
