  1. I had these PLUS the next-most-dangerous-toy-on-the-planet, a roll of black-powder gun caps. We would put the caps on the ground and smash them with a rock until they exploded. The “rich” kids in the neighborhood had the gun to shoot the caps, but we couldn’t afford the guns:-( Ah what great memories of childhood!

  2. Yes I do remember. I broke the string on mine and cut my Mom’s curtain pulls to use. She wasn’t really happy about it either.

  3. We used to bust caps too and set the whole roll on fire. Remember that where you could buy the rolls of caps in a package?
And Infi, I remember the planes with the rubber band.
Hide and seek, kick the can…good times.

  5. Jarts….I remember playing “catch” with my brother. He wouldn’t know I’d thrown it until the last second. Oh, the surprised look of fear on his face…! Worth every paddling I’d get! haha

  6. It’s a little known fact that playing Lawn Jarts led to Javelin Catching. It was considered for the Olympics but all of the teams kept losing players…

  7. Somewhere around here, I still have a set of clackers.
I bring them out when we have a crowd, if I remember.
Remembering is getting to be the hard part.

  8. You can still get those rubber band planes (as well as all sorts of other cool stuff, such as model rockets) at hobby stores.

  9. Whoops, my comment about the rubber band planes should have been addressed to Scott, as it was in answer to his question further up.
