Atlanta Hooters Happening II

OK, my plan is to leave St. Louis between 7 and 8 am Sunday morning.  It’s about a 9 hour drive to Atlanta, the half-way point in my trip to Florida.  With a stop for lunch along the way I should hit Atlanta around 5 or 6 pm.  Just to be safe, I’d say lets plan on 6:30 or 7 pm.

 I need to know the location of the Hooters where we can meet.  I’ll also need to find a nearby hotel.

  4. I don’t know yet, I was hoping you guys would tell me where the Hooters is that you met at before and then I’ll try to find a place near there. I’m hoping it’ll be near I-75.

  5. Jonco – There is a Hooter’s on Cobb Parkway near the interchange of I75 and I285 at the Cumberland Mall shopping center. If you check online, you will find a number of nearby hotel/motels, all expensive. Your best bet might be Hampton Inn or Embassy Suites. My problem is distance. I live about 75-80 miles East of that area, so I can’t make it. I know that infi is also located about 60 miles away. We met at the Lawrenceville Hooter’s, but that is about 45 miles from I75.

  6. Oh, and if you do stay near Cumberland Mall, then you will need an hour or two to make it through rush hour traffic on Monday morning. Have fun…
    I would suggest that you stay somewhere South of town. It will be cheaper and a hell of a lot quicker getting to Florida.

  7. I’m not ruling out Lawrenceville if that would work for more people. It’s only about 40 minutes off of I-75. Who’s in? If someone would email me their cell phone number I can let you know if I run into any delays.

  9. Jonco – For the legendary original LittleAssBBQ at the Lawrenceville Hooters, I stayed at Days Inn Lawrenceville. It was almost across the street from the restaurant – ¼ mile or so? It was an ok place to crash for a night, right price range in the off-season, and real convenient to the freeways back to I-75. Easy to find if you have a GPS.

  11. OK, Lawrenceville it is. I’m shooting for 6:30-7:00 pm. If it looks like I’m gonna be later than 7 I’ll call Gary. I have his cell phone number.

  12. I’ll have to be a last second addition. My wife is out of town at a equine clinic and I’ll have to tend to our horses if she isn’t back by 5 or 6.

  16. Man, if I didn’t have the job I HAVE to do on Monday, I’d sure make the 10 hour drive down on Sun and back home on Mon. Sounds like a lot of fun. Hi to all and wish I was there.
