You have to understand that Maryland is crippled by mere mention of snow, so the fact that they were anticipating feet of snow just made everyone go crazy! I lived there for 21 years and there is nothing scarier than a weekend weather prediction for snow or hurricane
BTW — tertiary is an awesome word that should be used three times as often
I just love someone who’s into his job.
Lived in Northern Maine. The snow there built up gradually but, it could get 4 or 5 feet deep and no one gave it a thought. School was seldom canceled.
Here’s a guy who wanted to be the sports anchor.
dimndgal – Sooo true! I moved to Maryland from Buffalo. My first “snow” down here (over 10 years ago!) was quite eye-opening. I’ve since learned how to handle Marylanders with the snow.
About the actual storm, though – This is worse than anything I can recall experiencing in Buffalo. 🙁
actually it was 30 inches yeah i got that snow but i didnt see this on the news and it is supposed to snow one more foot today and tomorrow
Oh, Jim. Down here in the snow-belt. Atlanta. We know snow. We sometimes get MORE THAN AN INCH! School is, of course, cancelled for a week. . . (shudder!) Milk! I need to buy milk! And bread!
Chris – That’s usually how it is in Maryland, too. The threat of snow often shuts down schools, so you can only imagine how crippling the current wave of snow is now. Sadly, that weatherman wasn’t too far off.
