  1. For those lost on this, one of the selling points of the National Guard and Reserve is that you have duty one weekend a month and 2 weeks per year. However, in times of war, you can be activated full-time as many have now found out.

  2. This is why there is fine print at the bottom of contracts – so you can’t read them even if you wanted to. So you sign your name on the dotten line and good old “Uncle Sam” can do as he pleases with you – all nice and legal like.

  3. For those of us who spent 20+ years in the Reserve as an aircrew member it was the best part-time job we ever had. Yes, it was dangerous; yes, it was at times more than a weekend a month and 15 days during the Summer?, yes, it is now supplying me with a generous supplement to Medicare. Also, it is a given fact that the military is NOT for those who want to hide from something because sooner or later it will catch up with you!
