You’re incredibly lucky that you can wash Gus in the sink. My furry faces would be doing the 2 second mile around the countertops with me looking like a cracked out psycho chasing them. Even in the bathtub, we have to have a washer and a defense guard to keep them in there. We try to make it enjoyable, but they will have none of it.

Seeing the pics of poor little Gus, I rented a DVD entitled dirty wet bitches the other night. Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be a dog shampooing instructional
Since when do you need to sensorize the dog??
I was wondering if anyone would notice his pixelated peep. Gus didn’t want his pixie exploited.
I’ve tried washing Gus in the tub (shower) but that doesn’t work near as well as the sink. It usually takes two of us to do it (haven’t tried it in the sink alone). He will make an attempt to get out if you take your hands off of him for a moment. But he doesn’t fight it like the other 3 dogs I’ve had in my life. I think if it were up to him he’d decline the bath, but he tolerates it very well. You HAD to lock them (my previous dogs) in the shower to wash them. I use electric clippers to cut Gus’ hair and he’s fine with that until you get close to his eyes. He’s not crazy about that. But, all in all, he’s the best behaved dog I’ve ever had… especially at bath time.
Allie, You’re welcome. I was surprised that Gus is such a hit here. I first wrote about him when I got him and didn’t expect to say much about him, but people kept asking about him, so he’s become a regular.
I guess my dogs are lucky because I don’t usually give them baths. They are strickly on their own unless they roll in the horse pies.
Gus has charisma, that´s why he is loved by everybody!
I think the dog is a a waste of internet space
Although everyone is entitled to their opinion, the rest of love hearing about Gus. Majority rules!
My dogs will escape the tub if they get the chance and soak the entire house, and God forbid the water is running when you try to put them in there!
I’m the most cynical man on the planet and posts that usually have everyone on here cooing and sighing just leave me cold and exasperated. Similarly when people go on about animals as though they are people I’m usually the first to roll my eyes and point out that it is, after all, just a dog/horse/bat. I usually leave such posts alone.
However, Gus is strange and cool and I don’t know why but his posts always get my attention.

There are persons who envy animals, maybe they are not loved by anybody, poor ones! They cannot restrain themselves, maybe a good therapist would be of use!
