Long live the Queen

That statement means something these days.  Queen Elizabeth II has served since Harry Truman was president.  We’ve gone through twelve presidents since she became the queen in 1952.

Truman queen Obama queen

The twelve presidents were :  Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, G. Bush, Clinton, G.W. Bush and Obama.

Does that make you feel old?

Thanks Gene

  1. That was unexpected. Why would you love to meet the queen? BTW, Truman looks like a kid sitting on Santa’s lap. I wonder what he’s thinking. Also, that’s some serious lipstick on the queen in 1952. Looks like the Joker.

  2. The Queen has also had eleven British Prime Ministers, second only to George III, who had fourteen, and one more than the number had by Queen Victoria.

Her first British Prime Minister was Sir Winston Churchill in 1952 followed by: Anthony Eden, Harold Macmillan, Alec Douglas-Home, Harold Wilson, Edward Heath, James Callaghan, Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.

God Bless Her and Long May She Reign.
