A hound the world in 80 days

Oscar2Oscar, a mutt from a pound, did a world-wide tour of 29 countries, taking in the famous sights of each place.

The $250,000 seven month World Woof Tour mirrored the famous journey of Phileas Fogg in Around The World In 80 Days.  Oscar’s owner Joanne Lefson, 38, from Johannesburg, got Oscar from a South African shelter.  She sold her home to pay for the trip and highlight the plight of stray dogs.

They say Oscar enjoyed the trip and even left his mark on the Great Wall of China.

  1. ok i love my pupper, and this is cute, but to sell your house? i think there are better ways to raise awareness for animals in shelters

  2. Why couldn’t she just photoshop these pictures and leave her house to her dog in her will like all the other normal crazy women? Dogs don’t care about visiting famous landmarks except to pee on them. Dogs don’t care about anything. Some don’t even mind getting bitch slapped by a cat on a roomba.

  3. I think WE’RE commenting on English, as Scott said. If you ignore the rules of the language THEN don’t be surprised if no one understands you.

  4. Oh, I wasn’t aware highly intelligent people couldn’t read typo’s or mispelled words. I apologize and sympathize with your disability. I’ll remember you can’t think out of the box and can’t understand anything but perfect sentences. AND this is why I would take a dog around the world instead of anal angry people. 🙂

  5. Hey required, that laughing sound is the other B&P folks making fun of your thin skin. Maybe you should try Ebonics.

  6. Lol I knew exactly what you meant. It was funny that every time I said something about poor English, you kept giving more. Just messing with you. I make lots of typos myself. Don’t worry, I rarely make an issue of it, but the 6 mistakes I counted in infidel’s comment were too much, I couldn’t resist. But of course Vista caused all those errors.

Then isiah gives us one more… sigh.

  7. Wow, the grammar/language/spelling Nazis are out. Anyway, I’m going to guess these photos are “shopped” just due to the fact that several countries have quarantine restrictions for pets when they fly into their country, whether it be private or commercial. I’m sure there are typos and misspelled words in my comment as well.
