This is the terrifying moment a British photographer cheated death as an out-of-control drag racing car careered towards him out of control. Andy Willsheer kept snapping even as the 250mph car spun towards the crash barrier at Pomona Raceway in California.

Impressive scene, but at only twenty feet off the line, the car was probably going a lot less than 250 mph…
Yeah, that’s what I thought. It’s probably capable of going 250, but was just getting off the starting line.

Learn to read English guys – it is a 250mph car. That doesn’t mean it is doing 250mph – with the combination of power and those huge rubber tyres propelling it even at that angle, I’m not sure I’d even have a camera in my hands any more, let alone stand there and press the shutter!
