  1. That was cool.

Reminds me of the test track that Jeep and Dodge have at the Chicago Auto Show–if you get a chance, go to it in February and check it out. While it is blatant publicity for their vehicles, it is cool to go up a hill at about a 30 degree incline with about a 45 degree decline on the other side.

  2. Oh, you folks need to do an autocross! 50 bucks, and you get to DRIVE your own car at 100%. Well, first few times, normal person, say 50%, but you get to really push your car. Even more fun, you can often ride along with a good driver in a well set up car. Most large cities have them, search “autocross” or “SCCA” and your city name.

When I drove a street car – 2000 BMW M Coupe – It was fun to hear the passenger’s helmet banging aginst the door and windshield. Race tires & shocks, I could do well over 1 g in a turn. In my current open wheeled race car, I pull up to TWO g’s on asphalt, and 2.5 g’s on good concrete. But then I am wearing that car, not sitting inside it.
