Pogo Moose Incident – Bracebridge , Ont, Canada – 1 hr. 45min. north of Toronto .
‘They were laying new power cables which were strung on the ground for miles. The moose are rutting right now and very agitated. He was thrashing around and got his antlers stuck in the cables. When the men (miles away) began pulling the lines up with their big equipment, the moose went up with them.
They noticed excess tension in the lines and went searching for the problem. He was still alive when they lowered him to the ground. He was a huge 60 inch bull and slightly upset!’
Thanks Dave
Thats where I parked that thing.
Boris and Natasha finally snag Bullwinkle! No sign of squirrel.
Even though it turned out to be quite a curser they were moving around, they should upgrade to a wireless moose.
This story is old and it happened in Alaska. That countryside in the photo looks more like wild Alaska than cottage country north of Toronto. Even though he was still alive, he was euthanized later on.
The moose incident took place on 5 October 2004 and happened near Fairbanks, Alaska. After the moose was lowered to the gound it was too dangerous for anyone to free it and so the poor animal was shot and killed. Read details on the Snopes site at http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/poormoose.asp
Yeah that was Alaska. I have a friend who was a lineman on that job and he showed me the same picture.
