BOW WOW! Bits of Wisdom – 72,038 hits yesterday

Landing in the number one spot in StumbleUpon’s Top Rated list will do amazing things for a website.  That’s what happened yesterday.  This morning we’re down to the fourth spot on the list.

Bits of Wisdom garnered 72,038 hits yesterday.  Most of that came from one post.  I’m expecting it to die down in a couple of days.  Hopefully we will have picked up a few new regular visitors from the spike.

I sort of hope it dies down in a few days or I’ll have to come up with a different hosting plan.  But I guess I’d find a way to make it work.

As you’ve no doubt noticed I’ve rearranged the ads on B&P and late last night I put some ads on BOW.  I can already tell a big difference.  I was averaging $2–$3 a day in ad revenues.  Just by moving the ads around I made over $14 yesterday. I guess it’s true what they say… Location, location, location!

  4. Jonco. Do you get payed based on the number of ads that get clicked on from your site? If so, I’l start clicking away on every ad I come across each time I visit the site and encourage all the other regulars to do the same. Pretty soon you can give up the Old Milwaukee and get some Sam Adams!

  7. He does get paid per click, but if too many clicks come from the same IP’s google gets suspicious and will take away ALL of his ad revenue and kick him out of adsense. So slight clicking may be good, but don’t go rampage clicking on the ads because he does get paid for impressions as well. So you all just coming to the site makes him a little money lol

  8. Here is the weird thing about Stumble…I made the list in the HUMOR section and my numbers went CRAAAZY. And yes it dies down after a few weeks. But for reasons I can never explain I get killer spikes from it (same popular post) every other month!!! So expect plenty more Stumble love to come!

    Of course I love BOW…so I am happy it made the list!!!

  13. Congrats Jonco, do you have any other recommendations for moving ads around? I am always looking for any way to increase ad revenue with PPC ads? Nice work on the numbers you are pulling down, you are a master of the blogosphere!
