Yeah, I think if I was that skier, I would have soiled myself.
I am glad they are okay.
He is Snow boarding not surfing
The correct title should be Kite Boarder takes off.
Corrected title.
There’d be an awful lot of brown snow under me, if I was that guy.
OMG!
Headline would read, “Man dies of heart attack in midair”
One of the many hazards of using a kite. In Corpus Christi, we saw several kiteboarders (surf) get horrific injuries from getting lifted and slammed onto land. In Hawaii, there were lots of guys who would get carried a lot further than they planned, but managed to catch downdrafts to keep from slamming hard. Just seeing all that has kept me from pursuing the adventure
I would love to try that
On a sadder note, this clip reminded me of an old friend, a hot air balloonist, whose balloon left the ground unexpectedly with him standing beside it. He latched onto it instinctively and before he knew it I guess, he was 100 ft. off the ground, lost his grip, and fell to his death. The darker side of necessary human adventure.
You’re right, human stupidity scares the crap out of me. How braindead to let himself get carried so high. And when he’s finally back to the ground, he doesn’t even detach the kite.
