We took aunt Iva out for a ride today and then to dinner at Cracker Barrel. She doesn’t eat a lot and just wanted a BLT. She said it was delicious. (We hadn’t been to Cracker Barrel since her 93rd birthday when she had a bad experience with her order.) So I was glad she was happy with her meal today.
When we took her back to her complex, she toldthe people there she had country fried steak. I don’t know why she does this, but it’s not important to me. She’s funny. We told her we were planning to take her somewhere extra special in five more years, on her one hundreth birthday, so to start thinking about where she wanted to go. We dicided we were going to get together again on her 100th whether she was there or not. And… I have a feeling she will be there. She’ll probably outlive both of us.
My brother Paul and our aunt Iva.
I tried to explain B&P to her and expressed all the kind wishes expressed here.
We’re off on early flights tomorrow morning. He to Kansas City and me back to St. Louis and Gus.
Best to your BEAUTIFUL aunt! Looks like you and Paul got Missouri (and Kansas, I think) pretty well carved up. The Cards game is on! Go St. Louis!
Son says Cards lead Dodgers 1-0 bottom of 3rd.
You guys are the best nephews ever. What beautiful pictures.
Congrats to ‘Aunt Iva’!! I just had a friend that turned 100, still living indepedently in a retirement community where I worked until about a year ago. She doesn’t see well anymore, but that’s her only major ailment. BTW, My wife and I love B & P! Something always catches our interest, so keep up the good work!
When I am 95, I hope to be that spry, funny, and cognizant.
bless your aunt Iva!!!
I got a bit teary with this! Don’t really know why. I am glad Aunt Iva had a nice day. I hope you are still doing this for her 100th! I would hate to miss that! I am glad you put a pic of your brother up too, I was going to ask if you would but didn’t want to be pushy. Thanks Jonco. xxoo
She is delightful. i wonder why she does the chicken fried thing?
Very.very nice and beautiful.Best Wishes.
I love her sense of humour, telling the other folks she’d had steak! She’s what here in England is referred to as a “game old bird”. Many, many happy returns to her.
nice pics Jonco
