The Narcisse Snake Pits are located north of Narcisse, Manitoba, Canada. The dens are the winter home of tens of thousands of Red-sided Garter Snakes. These pits are the largest concentration in the world of this particular type of snake
Its really something to see in person. We used to drive right by there when I was a kid on the way to my grandparents. We’d have to slow down on the highway because of all of the slime from the flattened snakes that didn’t make it across the highway.
