We’re off on a ride to Mark Twain Lake today. It was to be an overnight ride, but with rain in the forecast, we decided to make it a one day ride.
We’re planning to visit the Union Covered Bridge in Paris MO.

I love covered bridges the only one around here is at Stone Mountain park
Be careful, yourself Jonco! Have a great ride!!
infidel – There is also an old covered bridge just north of Sautee, near Helen.
Does it ever NOT rain on your rides?
Scott, today is a perfect day to ride. Rain tomorrow maybe, dunno.

Ummm, I take that back. It is raining in STL.
Infidel & Richard there’s an old covered bridge here in Forsyth county about 15 mins from me. Pooles Mill bridge, the county bought it, and 10 surrounding acres in 97 and made it into a park.
The ride was great. Perfect weather…except….. Actually it was a tad brisk when we left about 7:30, but gradually warmed up as the day went on. We kept dropping layers of clothing. but never got down to t-shirts. Always rode with long sleeves. But, we did hit light rain about 45 minutes from home. Just enough to get you wet, but not enough to stop and put rain gear on. I’ll post more about the trip tomorrow.

The website of the park.
Looks like a great place to ride. Where I live (N. Texas), we’ve had 12 inches of rain over the past 7 days. Today was the first sunshine we’ve seen! I took the bike out for a ride this morning — was great finally having some nice weather!
