I ran across this post on Reddit about easy recipes. I must be hungry because I couldn’t move away from this post for a while. Here are a couple interesting examples:
Pizza Bubble bread
1.)generously spray a brownie pan with cooking spray
2.)open two tubes of Pillsbury dough boy biscuits and quarter each one into a large bowl.
3.)dump in a jar of spaghetti sauce and get all the peices coated. dump the sauce covered biscuit pieces into the brownie pan and put your choice of cheese on top.
4.)put it in the over @ 375 for like 15 minutes. watch it, don’t let the cheese burn, but make sure the biscuits aren’t raw.
…………and try to put your regular pizza toppings on it =)
Chicken & rice
(1) can of cream of mushroom soup
(1) packet of lipton onion soup mix
chicken breasts
rice
water
mix all together, bake at 375 for 45 min, DELISH.
Grilled cheese and peanut butter sandwiches.
Trust me on this one. Bonus points for bacon in the sandwich. And get a sandwich press. That shit will save your life.
Chicken Mess
This is really good, though it might sound a little strange. Get a 9×9 baking dish. Throw in 3/4 cup of rice. Add about 2 cups of orange juice. Throw in carrots, onions, potatoes whatever you have. On top of the rice put whatever the cheapest chicken is (you can get thighs for 89 cents a pound around here). Sprinkle with salt, pepper, lemon pepper, and rosemary if you have it. Drizzle with olive oil or a few pats of butter. Bake in the oven on 350-400 for an hour or until the chicken is done.
Mac N’ Cheese/Ham Steak.
Cut the ham into cubes, mix into Mac N’ Cheese when it’s finished. Delicious.
Some people use hot dogs, but that’s for barbarians.
Chicken & Potato Bake
Buy: baking dish, 2-3lb whole chicken, kosher salt, potatoes, lemon, parsley (optional).
Pre-heat oven to 425. Wash chicken. Rub outside with salt. Rub cavity with salt. Chop parsley and stuff under breast skin with salt (optional). Cut lemon in half and stuff in cavity. Make a bed of chopped potatoes in baking dish. Put chicken on top and cook for an hour.
I challenge you not to end up with a delicious chicken and roasted potatoes smothered in chicken drippings.

Do you have any good easy recipes?
Not a recipe, but I have to say cream of mushroom soup has saved us many times when we needed a quick meal. It has to be the #1 miracle ingredient ever invented.
Ditto on Scott, cream of mushroom soup = easy spaghetti sauce. Just put the whole can in after you drain the spaghetti, wait till it melts down and viola. You can also throw in frozen vegetables or broccoli.
I kind of remember the recipe to something called “magic mushrooms”: take some olive oil and an Italian vinaigrette and mix them in a storage container. Next, place whole mushrooms in the mixture (stems up); place this in the refrigerator for at least two hours (I usually let them marinade overnight). Serve with toothpicks.
This is a great appetizer
Feel free to experiment with the recipe as I do not remember how accurate that is. I think Parmesan cheese is involved, too.
I like to put a little olive oil in a skillet and grill/fry a ham sandwich with various shredded cheeses on it. Throw a little garlic salt on it and it’s great. It’s not a fried peanut butter and ‘nanner sandwich, but hey, what can I say.
Sex in a pan. Best dessert ever!
Can’t top that. Will add, however, that a topping of crumbled potato chips and cheese will make anything from oven or grill delicious. Fish fillet, for example, in a dash of white wine, with some precooked vegetables. Or without.
When my oldest son was in kindergarten, the teacher sent home the results of a cute little class project. It was five pages stapled together titled *OUR FAVORITE RECIPES* each child had recorded their fav. My son’s was as follows.
Pancakes: Put some white stuff in a bowl. Put it in a pan and cook it. Turn it over. Put it on a plate and eat it. Feeds 5
Bella I like the sound of that
Pasta Sensation!! One of my own, looks complicated when written down but isn’t really and it tastes amazing.

Maffu, that looks like a mighty tasty dish, I’ll give it a try, thanks.
Healthy and low fat too
put in a crock pot: several frozen chicken breasts, 3 cans of beans (different kinds is better), small jar of salsa, cup or so of frozen corn
go to work/back to bed
several hours later – pull out the chicken .. let it cool, shred it and throw it back in
eat as is (yum) or add dollop of sour cream, cottage cheese .. cheddar ..
Maffu, I had everything here but the double cream. That makes a great lunch. I have enough leftover to last 6 months. It keeps multiplying, tell it to stop.
Lol @ KLAW.
I did say “feeds many” and “Cook it the next time you have a few people to feed.” Don’t worry though – it tastes even better reheated :0)
here’s a homemade pasta sauce… it takes some time but it’s really not complicated
Brown 1/4lb chopped bacon, remove (saving bacon) and drain fat from pan except for a couple tablespoons
Finely chop 1-2 ribs celery, 1 largish carrot (or 2 small ones) and 1 yellow onion (I use sweet yellows) sweat (saute) veggies until onion is translucent.
4-5 pressed (or finely minced) garlic cloves or so, cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
2 tablespoons tomato paste… cook for a minute or two.
Sploosh of good red wine (something you would drink) to deglaze the pan, add tomatoes
-1 28oz can peeled whole tomatoes (San Marzano Italian), 1 14oz can stewed tomatoes. Break up the whole tomatoes.
Add back in crumbled bacon/pancetta and 1 to 1 1/2 browned meat of choice (I use mild Italian sausage).
Add basil (roughly 2 tablespoons chopped fresh, maybe 2 teaspoons dried)
Add a punch of sugar (call it half a tablespoon)
Turn heat down to medium low so it’s a low simmer
Add 1 cup whole milk. If you have skim or 2% you can use it but it’s not going to be as good. Half and half is ok. Yes it will look orangish right now (and not that great looking), that’s fine… in about 3 hours it will look awesome.
Yes, I just said 3 hours. Sounds like a pain in the ass, but you can really leave it on the stove on a slow simmer and give it a stir once an hour… it’s about half an hour getting it going and then you just have to be in the general area, not like you have to stare at it. First time you might want to keep a little closer eye on it, if you’re getting sticking on the bottom of the pan you have it too hot. First stir I add salt to taste and check it once more when it’s done. oh, and the longer the better, if it’s simmering 4 hours that’s just fine. 2 or 2 ½ hours is probably minimum.
you aren’t going to make this during the week, but it’s sweet on the weekend if you have guests coming over, 80% of the work is done ahead of time, you spend half an hour starting it right after lunch, all you need to do is cook your pasta of choice (I like it with Campanelle personally), throw some garlic bread in the oven, have a salad ready, and you’re done… and it’s awesome… the leftovers are great as well.
