I can’t see the edit but a body traveling at that speed doesn’t stop in such a short distance without some effect. Bogus, or else one heck of a lucky first attempt. How many times did he have to die trying to get this right?
All I was waiting for was which company name would show up at the end. Formulaic.
I have to agree with Grog, there’s no way he can accelerate that quickly to that velocity from that height, it looked like his jump height was higher than his start point, which is impossible.
The guys that made the video have a page detialing how they faked it.
I agree with Grog. Let’s go back to our childhood here…a flexible pool that size and that depth–wouldn’t it move when something hit it at that speed?
And there’s no padding under the pool like sand or grass. Remember those pools? Imagine the bottom on a hard surface.
(Between :08 & :12 you can clearly see a dummy in blue laying at the end of the slide…??)
I might try it after I’ve seen a dozen people do it and end up OK.
Why, oh why, didn’t I think of FAKING stunts like these. Jonco, I would have been one of the 1st dozen or so. Where I’m from we’re called daredevils for doing things like this. I think other places call them dumba$$; but daredevil/dumba$$, it still hurts when things like this don’t work. But when it does….WOW.
