A personal note

Renee2As some of you know my niece passed away yesterday.  She was in the Kansas City area and was staying at a hotel with her family.  She went to the pool area Saturday evening and for some unknown reason she was found floating face down in the pool about 20–30 minutes later.  They pulled her out and administered CPR and called 911.  They got her to the hospital but she was not responding.  They put her on life support and ran some tests but she didn’t respond.  They removed the life support Monday morning and she passed away.  Renee was 16.

The family had donated many of her organs which is really great.  Hopefully she will give a chance for a healthier life to many other people.  I know that makes her parents proud.

I want to thank those that have expressed their sympathies and thoughts and prayers.  It means a lot to me and I will convey the messages to her family.

  3. Wow -so sorry to hear this. It’s phenomenal that a family can be so unselfish in their time of grief to donate organs to help others. My prayers are with the family.

  4. I was so sorry to read the news of the loss of your niece. Such a tragic loss. What a wonderful gesture from her family to donate her organs however. My brother-in-law had a heart transplant 15 years ago and has just had a kidney transplant. Those gifts have enabled him to live to see his children grow up and to play with his first little granddaughter. Somewhere there are families saying prayers of gratitude today for the wonderful gift your family have shared. On behalf of all organ recipients … thank you!

  5. My condolences Jonco, to you and your family. It’s allways a tragedy to see someone depart so young. God has her with him now for the selfless and admirable decision to be a donor.

  8. It MUST be a reason for these kind of events, such as a young person´s death. I lost a sister when she was 19 and remember the only thought that came in first place into my mind: “my hope is that I will meet her someday”.

My condolences to you and her family.

  9. Very sorry to hear about that. Any death is a tragedy, but especially so when they go so young an unexpectedly.
