Yeah, I thought the front wheel was a quick-release one, then realized that point was moot.
If the crook has a good pair of bolt cutters, he is golden–about half-second to release the bike and then carry it home.
I guess the bike owner assumes all the crooks are idiots in his area, even though there might be one or two crooks that case the area to figure out what to steal. Or so I have heard.
…color me stupid…yep you can steal the bike but you still got to cut the cable cause you sure can’t ride it with a cable flappen around…but then for fun just steal the sign and leave the bike…
I’d be tempted to take the bike and leave the front tire… just because.

Tim, Or maybe he could lift the leg of the sign and take the bike.
Well, yeah, Jonco, but what would be the humor in that? Wouldn’t you rather have a follow-up pic of a cut bike cable-lock….

Perhaps the owner saw that the sandwich board was chained down and secured
Just take the sign and the bike and figure it later.
I would cut the brake cable just enough so that when the owner uses it, it snaps in mid-brake… >=]
Maybe Tim is a former Bike thief?….or sold bolt cutters?
Maybe some “maroon” was trying to secure the sign and not the bike…
Take the seat and sell it on Craigslist.
What in the world is on that sign?
