A great day to ride. Showers were predicted for Sunday afternoon, but they never materialized. It was overcast much of the day, be we also got some sun too.
Me and Charlotte.
Riding along one of Missouri’s gently rolling two lane roads.
We met for breakfast at Holtie’s Pub and Restaurant in Barnhart. Always great food at reasonable prices. Then we headed on down MO 61 to Bloomsdale and over Highway Y to Bonne Terre. We saw signs for the Space Museum in Bonne Terre. I’d never heard of it. We stopped but they didn’t open until 1 pm. It was noon, so we decided to go to Dairy Queen for ice cream instead. A good decision. We’ll save the Space Museum for another ride.
Then we headed up Highway E to De Soto where we caught a side road, and they’re really all side roads down there, back to Highway 67 which took us back North towards I-55 and home. All in all, it was about a hundred mile ride. Perfect weather too.
I love side roads, too. Visit my other blog, if you like, for some scenery:

Nice day for a cool ride, great scenery. Ummm, is everyone wearing B&P T-shirts?
Actually I was wearing a Harley shirt today. My buddy on the yellow Goldwing has a B&P shirt, but he didn’t wear it today.
I can understand that, after one washing mine now sez pjfhdz;lfHKorhjfhl.dunno.
Looks like a great ride, I’m a little jealous, I had to work today, I rarely get to ride anymore.
Right on! I went for a ride yesterday after I bought a new battery for my Road Glide. A quick trip through the country.
Great pic of you riding Jonco! Charlotte is looking good! Glad you had a great day and ice cream is always a good choice!!
I notice on your map that Madonna owns an entire town round your way.
Can you take her back now please?
Good to see you outran that shadow guy.
Ahem… Road Warrior moment
Greetings from The Jonco! The Lord Jonco! The Warrior of the Wasteland! The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla!
Jonco – glad you had a nice ride, I know those back roads and agree that they’re a joy to cruise. Next time I’m out in Missouri I’ll have to check out the Space Museum in Barnhart. BTW Desoto is actually spelt De Soto, but I guess you can call it whatever you want…
Jimbo,
When I typed it it didn’t look right, but I was at a loss to the correct spelling. I guess I should have looked at my own map. Corrected. Thanks.
Maffu, I didn’t notice Madonnaville over in Illinois. Thanks for the offer, but you can keep her.
My brother-in-law lives in De Soto, Holtie’s has great food and cold beer. This is the confusing part, Jimbo says the Space Museum is in Barnhart, you say Bonne Terre.dunno.
It’s definitely in Bonne Terre. I saw it yesterday. Jimbo is confused.
Great, so I passed it up. I am here, they say they never heard of a Space Museum.
