  1. And never enough cowbell.
Boy, I sure miss my Camaros, Cudas, and Novas. But, at least I’m not driving a minivan with the turning signal left on…

  2. What’s the point of these ads? The ads are pushing for nostalgia while the cars they’re selling have none of that, except for the Corvette (in name only).

“Hey, remember when the cup holder sat next to you and wore a poodle skirt? Well, here’s the car we have now that has two plastic cup holders in the center console. Oh, and we don’t use bench seats anymore, so that lady can’t really sit right next to you anymore….NEXT!”

  3. Jimbo – read the reason for the ads. Makes perfect sense. And yes infi, my truck also has bench seats. To quote Bella, “who pissed in his cereal?”

  4. Calm down, do NOT turn this into a major confrontation. Vandals took a leak in his cup holders and dribbled on his poodle skirt. Dogs wear ear muffs and skirts now, eh?

  5. @Richard – Thanks, I should actually click on the links sometime, huh? 😀

Even still, it’s a GM-run site, so it still feels like they’re exhibiting a bit of a split personality. Glorifying the past in one sense to one demographic, and pushing the new, plasticy goodness to another.

  6. Jimbo – you might be reading a little to much into this. It’s just fun and nostalgia.

“Woodward Dream Cruise is the world’s largest one-day automotive event, drawing 1.5 million people and 40,000 classic cars each year from around the globe—from as far away as New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the former Soviet Union. North American cruisers from California, Georgia, Canada and all points in between caravan to Metro Detroit.” http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/index.php

  7. They do make songs about Volvo. It´s a song called “En gammal Amazon” wich translates to “An old Amazon”. It was a model in the sixties, pretty cool actually.
