Moonburgers are great!

Nowhere landWe made it to Moonshine IL before the 12:30 Grills Off deadline. Moonshine is not an easy find.  It’s in the middle of nowhere in the middle of Illinois.

Nowhere2

We hit a little rain the first half hour or so of the ride, but not enough to put rain gear on or get very wet.  It remained cold and blustery all day… though the sun did pop out for a bit on the way home.  You can click on some of the pictures to enlarge them.

You’re looking at the entire town of Moonshine.  It consist of this one building plus a garage and an outhouse.

  1. It sounds like a good ride, too bad it wasn’t 75 degrees and sunny. Is it the best burger in the world?

  2. It was a very good burger. Plain and simple but very tasty. But the atmosphere and ambiance is what makes it excellent. Best in the world? I can’t say because I haven’t eaten all the other burgers to compare.

  3. What! What am I missing? Is it like cow tipping or something????
KLAW, you’re the electrician…do they have to ground those things?

  4. You can tell who washed their hands after visiting Sitty Hall, their hands are blue. Bella, of course they need to be grounded……..

  5. Bella – You got a bunch of desperate people who’ve just been vibrating their innards and swallowing bugs, truck exhaust and huge quantities of air for hours and hours. I just hope the straps hold, or you’d be able to see the new Illinois Space Shuttle from your house!!

  6. cool pics and ride..my only complaint and maybe its just because im a youngin..but why are all of you old farts on ultra glides?

  7. Looks like a great ride! Does Mrs Jonco ride on Charlotte with you or does she have her own ride?

  8. We like the luxury of the Ultra Electra Glide. And I REALLY dig the radio. Didn’t have that on my Sportster. Surely you can’t be thinking a crotch rocket is a real motorcycle?

  9. I love when Jonco posts pictures of himself. We get to see his soul. Here he is this man with a beard and sun-glasses traveling across America. Always going and looking at important and interesting things. Posting his observations to us, the viewers. So we see a man attempting to show the world the world through his eyes. His eyes are covered by sunglasses however. What does that tell us? It tells us that he hides his eyes. The eyes are the window of the soul. Is Jonco telling us he is soulless? No. He is telling us that his soul doesn’t enter in. That what he shows us is the way it is. Or rather what is funny. This is what is funny if we had Jonco’s vision to see it, and didnt let her individual perception (eyes) get in the way of the truth. Of the essence of comedy.

This fact is more fully obivous with the beard. It is another way of protection, from us. The people who cant see what is funny. Who need to be lead gently but firmly to funny. The beard makes us think of our father who protected us. But jonco’s beard protects both him and us.

Finally his clothing never varying from location to location. This is significant as well. Jonco is the same everywhere. The world cant touch him, he touches it. He filters out the true funny out of creation without being tarnished. His clothing protects him.

In short it is Jonco’s world, we just live in it. Thank you for all your fine work!

  10. I am with you on the appreciating Jonco thing isiah, but the rest may be over thinking. He’s just a guy riding a bike who doesn’t fancy bugs in his eyes! An awesome guy granted but still just a guy!

I do love the post on where you’ve been though! Helps me travel America from the comfort of my couch!

  11. Deep, isiah. Really Deep.
Two of my friends just bought brand new spanky Harleys, one a Heritage Classic and the other a Screaming Eagle Fat Bob, both fully loaded of course. Great looking machines and I’m jealous and envious. Freedom….at any age.

  12. Nope, he said it’s called a Fat Bob, I thought he was mistaken too but I guess it’s been out 2 or 3 yrs.

  13. I’ve never driven one, KLAW but have been the b!tch on the back many times. I have an inner ear/dizziness problem now and I can’t even do that. I miss it. I have lots of female friends that ride though, as well as guys. Snowmobiles in the winter and 4 wheelers and Hogs in the summer.

  14. no sir i ride a ’08 dyna street bob with a 103″ motor and after market cams putting 17″ apes on her her next week but having trouble finding some railroad spikes to make my own foot pegs hey ive got nothing against the touring bikes when your going cross country..if your going to do it it might as well be on the caddilac of harleys..ive been ridding motorcycles off and on since i was 5 (im 23) this is my first harley ive done the crotch rocket thing there fun i miss going 90 in a 30 but couldnt ride for more than 30 min..my next bike im building from scratch

  15. And Jonco’s helmet? Jonco seeks shelter within his helmet to protect his mind from the random bullsh!t flung from all sides of this blog. Why is it so shiny? Is it because on this day he headed out of town before the crap started flying with the marines post, or is it because most of us fling only polished, well-crafted BS? Dunno.
