We’re heading out on a motorcycle ride from St. Louis to the Moonshine Store in Martinsville Illinois or Moonshine IL (depending on who you’re talking to) on Saturday morning. Moonshine has a population of 2 and is best known for the Moonburger. We have to get there early because they turn the grill off at 12:30 in the afternoon.
One day last month they sold a record 1,119 hamburgers before noon!
The Moonshine Store’s official website.
Let us know if it’s worth the ride. Any ride is a good ride.
That looked like the logs of meat they sell at Walmart. Hrmmm.
Never been here yet, but this is supposed to be the best hamburger in Oklahoma, plus they have a seismograph in the ‘observatory’: http://www.meersstore.com/menu.html
Scott, I think 2 road trips will answer our questions. Beer and burger OR burger and burger. dunno.
Saw that news spot the first time it aired on CBS. Hope you enjoy yourselves. May not be the best but they sure do seem like nice folks.
What up with the 12.30 closing?
I hope you have a safe ride and chow down. It looks good.
Scott, that looks like my kind of place. Been thinking about a trip to Texas… if we do it I think that’s just a little bit off the trail. A definite stop on the way.
Everyone in the midwest are nice folks. DJ, she shuts down early to avoid the bikers. She takes a short nap and commences to slice onions and tomatoEs.
wel theres 2 places around this part of texas that make the best burger (i should know im a fat kid 😛 ) thats cupps drive in its just a lil dinner that closes at 2 i think the best time to get there is around 11:15 there hot fresh and greasy the other place is health camp drive in its located on one of the last remaining traffic circles in the country if you go there you have to eat the super burger its the way the original big macs where back in the 1960’s you have to drink a chocolate malt with it they use hershey syrup in them…there freaking awesome
They have a motorcycle run in April to this place. Looks like a blast!
