Dog eats Homer Simpson

Homer eatenDoh!  When Homer said, “Eat me”, he didn’t mean literally.  But a dog named Dixie, wolfed down a Homer Simpson toy.  Dixie had to have life saving surgery to remove the plastic figurine.

Dixie, a Dalmation cross, was taken to the vets after becoming ill – and an X-ray showed the little plastic figure.

Her owner Victoria Keir, from Aberdeen, Scotland, said the dog had scoffed down a chocolate egg which had the Simpson toy inside a plastic capsule.

Vets from the charity PDSA said that without having surgery Dixie wouldn’t have survived.

  1. Since chocolate is supposed to be deadly for dogs, why did the owner leave some too close to the dog? Maybe that is why Dixie was sick.

  2. I swallowed a toy when I was a kid, but the doctor wouldn’t operate. He said, “This too shall pass.”

  3. I also swallowed a dollar bill when I was a kid. The doctor told my Mom to wait a few days, and then call him. He asked how I was doing, and my Mom said, “No change yet.”

  4. When I was a kid I dreamed that I swallowed a two-foot wide marshmallow, and when I woke up my pillow was missing.

  5. I don’t recall Homer ever saying “Eat me.” Bart used to say “Eat my shorts” but still I don’t get what was being referenced.

  6. ANY, in the very first episode Homer told the entire world to eat him. It was banned here, but France let it slide.

  7. @Richard

I dunno about the whole chocolate being deadly to dogs thing. Our first dog – a 30 pound mutt – stole three one-pound boxes of Fannie Mae Mint Meltaways from under the Christmas tree. She didn’t get sick or die. maybe it’s only certain breeds?
