How to pass the time til the next WIC book arrives. If you don’t know what a WIC book is, just pay attention to the four hundred pound woman buying 25 bags of groceries without any money.
Bella – WIC = Women, Infants & Children. It is a program that provides vouchers (in booklet form) for the use by low-income families to purchase (allegedly) healthy food, etc. There are limits as to what the vouchers can be used to purchase. No alcohol, no cigarettes.. but (basing my guess on standing behind a “shopper”) – lots of junk food is OK. (Said shopper had to use real money for the beer purchase).
Ultimately, the program might work better if the recepients were required to take and pass a class in nutrition as well as have their purchases audited for the entire time that they partake of the voucher program. But, of course, someone might whine that their privacy was being invaded.
Ah, gotcha Julie and Thank You for your eloquence in explaining this to me. We have it here too, but they just use a different title. Same sh!t though. And we wouldn’t dare try to invade their privacy, because it’s only our money. I don’t mean any harm to women that really need it and use it wisely for their children.
(Ahem – R/C flyer here) Those flying lawnmowers have been around for over 30 years.
Kind of a standard comedy act for R/C airshows… usually a guy goes out onto the field pushing on the ‘handle’ while the announcer screams for him to get off the active runway, then the lawnmower takes off into the sky.
That is one seriously annoying soundtrack
yes it is,was that in Alabama

I would buy one of those mowers if it would stay in the yard.

They’re supposed to fly pretty bad….
Does bad mean good?
Shouldn’t a lawnmower be on the floor. It can actually cut the grass there!
