This looks cool. I can’t wait. Hope I’m still alive then.
At the Wharton Business Technology Conference, Microsoft unveiled the latest vision video from their Office Labs called 2019. The video shows some examples of how current prototypes may evolve in the years ahead within the worlds of education, healthcare and beyond.
I can’t wait to see what happens when housekeeping comes in to clean the fingerprints off the glass!
10 years out should give Microsoft time to debug vista.
LOL @ A L N. There are a few interesting challenges to overcome before this becomes a reality (the video, not debugging Vista). I have no doubt that we will have the processing power and data transfer speeds available to do this. But what about power sources for all these devices? And do I really want people to know where I am all the time?
Also, the Jetsons gave us a glimpse into the future, as did many movies in the 1950s. And we are not all flying spaceships and lounging around while robots clean the house for us. And though automation has increased in our daily lives, we need more exercise. I don’t want a digital remote, I want to get up and change the thingamagic’s channel myself (won’t be called a tv anymore).
They forgot to show us all eating rats and living in abject squalor because the global economy melted.
They also forgot to show the monkeys flying out of everyone’s arses, which is more likely than all this happening by 2019.
Incidentally, Blade Runner was set in 2019. Have all you Los Angelans started speaking mandarin/german yet? Flying police cars? Intelligent robot slaves indistinguishable from their human counterparts? No? You’d better get your skates on, you only have ten years.
The thing I am looking forward to in the future is all the leg room they had on that flight. I wonder how Office did that?
Wow. It looks f’n boring 10 years from now. Remind me to kill myself on the 364th day of year 9.
