  1. I am admittedly a left leaning type of guy, who voted for Obama and blames republican “favor the rich” policies for the economic mess we are in now, but there is no way I would want a ban on all guns. that would simply take the guns out of the law-abiding citizens hands. You can bet the criminals would still keep theirs! Still, the mean-spirited tone of the cartoon pretty much caters to the redneck set.

It always amuses me when someone from another country decides to make some broad generalization of where I live based on a cartoon.

Or better yet, when someone home grown starts to think that maybe the men who crafted the constitution just might have been plain wrong. After all, surely they could have defeated the British with bows and arrows.

Still, as terrible a place as America is, there are people flocking to the place to live here, there are a lot of countries asking for our help, and not too many Americans I know trying to escape over the barbed wire fences and brick walls keeping is all trapped here.

Maybe you can set up a refugee camp, and save us from ourselves.

Let me know when you have solved our problems for us.

Bill, better look on BOTH sides of the aisle on that one. Most all of the DC politicians are complicit on this mess! By the way, there are just as many rich Dems as Repubs. Why did the big Wall Street house throw the election cash at Obama?? Check it out.

“as terrible a place as America is”
Mike, I hope you were speaking in the 3rd person on that one.

But hey…better slip out of something comfortable…
I should be there in (checks watch)

  8. Wow , aren’t we an easily offended bunch . I would never dare to generalize everyone in your country as “stupid” . My comment was towards all the ones that have such a desperate URGE to own a firearm . However , I love how you defend your country yet you fail to realize that if it was such a great place to live , people would not need those damn firearms in the first place ! OHHH , you are all so patriotic it would make a Bald Eagle cry ! You may THINK , people want to go to your country , but this days are over … now its your country that desperately needs people !

    http://www.iht.com/articles/2009/02/15/america/military.php – Mighty wanna read this .

Also , getting a visa to the US has never been easier since the financial crises . Your nation needs money so now , you are all crying for our “vacation money” !

You don’t want immigrants ? Just send them here over to Canada , we will gladly take them as we are not a xenophobe nation .

  12. I made a mistake with parts of my comment and for that I will apologize.
I meant it as a joke but that could be taken another way.
Anyone that calls a whole nation “Stupid” is not someone that I wish to
joke with. I still think that you’re an @sshole D man so climb back
up the shute and we’ll get along fine.
To everyone else, I am truly sorry.

I have a Canadian brother-in-law and a flock of beautiful Canadian nieces up there. I’ve grown to know a lot of their friends and neighbors over the years. I’m in Canada several times a year, and I’ve been in every province but Newfoundland.
Canucks are great folks. This D “Man” jerk isn’t representative of most.
My Mom lives in Florida, and let me assure you, D-jerk, that there are probably more Canadian-borns living in Florida than in Ottawa.
You forgot to do your homework again, kid…Try this article from the Orlando Sentinel 12/02/08:

A new report from the federal government shows that Canadian travel to Florida climbed 18 percent in 2007.

Just under 2.8 million Canadians visited Florida during the year, according to the U.S. Commerce Department. That made Florida the No. 2 destination for travelers from the Great White North, behind only New York state. Florida ranked ahead of New York in total number of nights spent by Canadian visitors.A new report from the federal government shows that Canadian travel to Florida climbed 18 percent in 2007.

Funny…2.8 million…that’s a familiar number…Oh! that’s the same number as the entire population of the largest city in Canada!

And btw, genius…who said America doesn’t want immigrants…you left out one word in that statement…

  15. ^ The funniest thing is that buttknob says nobody wants to come to the US…there are a LOT of Ontario tags on the roads here where I am, and that article was only about Florida…and we have, what, 57 – 58 more states?
In fact, some Florida radio stations carry CBC news for the Canuckish residents and visitors.

That and any crime that would happen on the neighbor’s house would bring police to Mr. Gunhaver McShoot’s house in order to arrest him for being an accomplice to those crimes. Definitely get reckless endangerment charge convictions.

Of course, the sign is a little misleading. Just because they don’t own guns doesn’t mean the house isn’t armed. And who knows if the criminals don’t just pop McShoot’s house instead? And they know they’ll have to bring a posse of people with guns too, and maybe they’ll have to kill McShoot in his sleep since he just announced that he is armed and will use them against potential burglars.

This tactic only works with anarchists, really.
