  2. I know it’s real, but that looks weirdly photoshopped.

That was, no matter what party you’re in, a really impressive day. I mean 100,000 people crammed in around the Arch! That’s pretty incredible!

  3. Derek, that number is false.Imagine if you will, all of the homelss people standing on the Gateway to the west grounds asking for spare change.CHANGE is coming, perhaps he can get these people off the streets and on their feet.Remember one little problem, you must want to work.

  4. KLAW,
What makes you think that number is false? And what the Hell does the rest of your comment have to do with Derek’s comment or the post?
FYI, the crowd estimate was from the St. Louis Police Department who have some experience in estimating crowd sizes.
And, that big long bar on your keyboard is the SPACE bar. Learn how it’s used.

  7. It’s not photoshopped, he saw how to make size 11 hover shoes here on B&P.

There may have been 100,000 there to see McCain’s Gateway Arch-enemy, but what’s important is that the other 300,000,000 US residents had better things to do.

  8. You’re right KLAW… Estimates are never correct. We’ve had thousands upon thousands of people on those grounds before. It’s been some time, but they used to CRAM people in and shut down entire blocks for our fourth-of-July celebrations, and most of the time, it wasn’t even a FRACTION as full as it was for President Elect Obama’s appearance.

So yeah. The estimate might be off a bit. It might have been more.

As for the rest of your post…I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about, so I’ll ignore it.

  9. And @ Scott. I guess it’s pointless to note that most of the other 300,000,000 residents of the nation don’t actually live in St. Louis, so your point makes no sense, huh?

  10. Geez Derek, only a fraction of my comments are completely serious. I was just pointing out that 100,000 is a small number compared to the entire population or even compared to the number who voted for him. I guess it’s pointless to note that most of the 100,000 at the hypnotism probably don’t actually live in St. Louis, so your point makes no sense, huh?

  11. Predicting a turnout crowd is different that estimating the size of an established crowd.
When the pope came to St. Louis the media kept telling everyone to stay home and avoid the area because it would be too crowded. In thew end everyone listed to the media and few showed up. I think that’s quite different.
